France

France is a great country for outdoor activities. Areas such as the Dordogne or the Ardeche in southern France are perfect for hiking or canoeing or kayaking.

For hikers France offers probably the best infrastructure in the world with over 140.000 km of marked footpaths. The Grande Randonee started as one path going from the northernmost to the southernmost part of France, but now there are more than 50 routes covering the whole country. They are an ideal way of seeing France.

Both the Alpes and the Pyrenees offer excellent skiing, snowboarding and other wintersport activities. The slopes are among the best in the world in resorts such as Les Arcs, les trois Vallees or Chamonix where you can ski on the Mont Blanc!
